About our polls

AFF Quick Polls and social media Snap Polls are generated in response to the raising of a new issue, if we suspect there is a trend, or if we want to quantify a problem. These polls are short, specific and usually inform a single thread issue such as removals or school admissions. They can be used to support an existing brief, or to generate a new report. They can also be used to determine whether a full investigation on a given issue is required. In the past Quick Polls were used as an internal reference document and informed us on how we could best serve our Army families and allocate our resources. However, we have increased our responsiveness to our families’ needs and we use Quick Polls to help inform Army policy, effect work on the Armed Forces Covenant and inform Ministerial policy, whether through written briefs or oral presentations on committees.
