There is a range of funding available to support your Service child at their independent school.

The Armed Forces Education Trust is a charity working for children and young adults whose education has been compromised or put at risk as a result of parents’ past or current service in our Armed Forces.

03   Ogden Armed Forces Bursary Scheme

The tri-Service scheme invites applications for children aged 11+ years who attend a private school.

Eligibility:

  • Parent has served/is serving in the Army, RAF, Royal Navy or Royal Marines
  • Parent has either been killed or injured in Service or has a diagnosis of PTSD

If you fit the above criteria please email Clare Scherer, Director, Royal Navy & Royal Marines Children’s Fund on director@rnrmchildrensfund.org.uk who will ask for more information before submission to the Ogden Armed Forces Bursary Scheme. There is no guarantee of a bursary, the maximum length of any award is 5 years and match funding is required from either another charity or the school. The maximum amount of any award is £8,000 per annum, but the amount of award may not be the maximum.

04   Lord Wandsworth College

The College is an independent boarding and day school on the border of Hampshire and Surrey. The Lord Wandsworth Foundation helps to fund a boarding or day place at LWC in conjunction with other trusts and charities. Find out more here.
