AFF announces new Chief Executive

The Army Families Federation has appointed Collette Musgrave as its new Chief Executive.

Collette joined AFF in 2017 from the public sector, where she developed a background in strategic planning, policy development and management. She worked as a civil servant in the Ministry of Defence, and in postings to the Cabinet Office and HM Treasury, before serving as a Royal Air Force Officer for five years.

On her return to the civil service, she worked across a number of areas in Defence, including Service Personnel policy, and in Headquarters Field Army, before completing the Royal College of Defence Studies course with an MA in Strategic Studies. She has most recently been AFF’s Operations Director.

Collette said: “I’m very honoured to take up the role as the new Chief Executive of the Army Families Federation. Everyone at AFF is committed to improving the quality of life for Army families, through providing advice and guidance, and pressing for policy change – I am proud to be working with a dedicated and experienced team. We will continue to work hard on behalf of all Army families to ensure their voice is heard.”

Julia Warren, Chair of Trustees, said: “I, and the Trustees, are very pleased to announce Collette’s appointment as the new Chief Executive of AFF. She brings the skill and experience to build on the excellent work of her predecessor, and to ensure that AFF continues to go from strength to strength as the independent voice of Army families.”
