AFF Chief Executive stands down after six years

Our Chief Executive, Collette Musgrave, is moving on after 10 years with AFF, and six years as CEO.

Since joining AFF in 2016, Collette has worked as UK & Overseas Director, Director of Operations and, since December 2020, Chief Executive.

James Rous will serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer and assume responsibility while the Board completes the process of appointing a permanent successor.

Collette said: “I’ve been with AFF for almost 10 years, serving for six years as Chief Executive, so this move comes with mixed emotions!

“I am proud and passionate about AFF and the work we do, and have very much enjoyed my job.

“I could not have asked for better people to work with – present and past, within the AFF team and in the wider community, who care about, and support, serving personnel and their families.  But now is the right time for a fresh challenge in my charity career.”

Abigail Boyle, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “We would like to thank Collette for her leadership and dedication to AFF and wish her well in her new role.  We welcome James Rous, as our Interim Chief Executive, as AFF continues to deliver excellent service and support to our Army community.”

James Rous said: “I am pleased to be taking on the role and I look forward to working with our excellent team to continue to support those who serve and their families.  As a former soldier and, having grown up in an Army family, I am keenly aware of how important the charity’s work is for our beneficiaries.”
