AFF is grateful to the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund for its ongoing support to ensure that AFF can provide one-to-one help to F&C families dealing with domestic abuse.
Thanks to a grant from the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund, our Foreign & Commonwealth team will continue to offer a bespoke immigration service, across all three services, for F&C spouses and partners who are leaving abusive relationships.
AFF offers visa advice to all F&C families, but this grant enables us to provide additional services for victims of domestic abuse, such as completing immigration forms on their behalf, writing supporting documentation and liaising with support agencies and the Home Office.
Securing these spouses’ and partners’ immigration status is key to ensuring that they can leave abusive relationships and have access to the benefits and support they require.
Katherine Houlston, AFF’s Foreign & Commonwealth Specialist, said: “We are hugely grateful to the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund for their support for this vulnerable cohort. Securing their immigration status is the ‘first door’ that needs to be unlocked to be able to ensure the relevant benefits and support are provided. AFF could not provide this additional support without Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund’s generous funding.”
