Service children across the UK will once again benefit from an extra £3 million as the MOD Education Support Fund (ESF) has been extended for another year.
Since its launch in 2011, the fund has helped publicly funded schools, academies and free schools in the UK mitigate the effects on Service children whose parents are frequently on the move or deployed.
Armed Forces Families & Safeguarding has now secured the funds for the extension of the ESF for 2021/2022.
The last round directly benefited 16,500 Service children across the UK.
Service families are encouraged to let their children’s schools know that they can now apply. The deadline is 30 September 2021. The application pack has been revised.
Result letters will be sent out in January 2022 and payments made to successful applicants in March/April 2022.
The ESF is separate from Service Pupil Premium and more info on SPP can be found here.
