Electric vehicle charging points – update

If you have asked for an electric vehicle charging point to be installed at your SFA, you should hear from Amey from the end of May onwards to arrange an installation survey.

EVCP installations are now expected in start in the summer due to the need for staff training and to comply with Government rules.

Any families who live in SFA who have plans to buy an electric vehicle should register their interest through the NHP Helpdesk.

If you install a charging point without requesting approval, you may incur charges when moving out.

    Good afternoon.

I am after some guidance from yourself.

I have recently purchased an electric car. When I spoke with Amey in regards to getting a wall charger installed, they will not give me the approval or go ahead to have one installed by a professional company while using the government grant scheme.
Their response to this question is they need approval from DIO.

So I am looking to get approval/permission to instal an EV wall charger at my current living quarters as i do not believe i Amey will be able to install one by the time i receive my car.

Is this something i need to peak to you about? If not, could you please point me in the right direction.

Really confused.. in times where people are now being encouraged to buy electric vehicles yet we have just been refused permission by Amey when we have asked for us to install a charging point for our disabled son’s electric car which motability will pay for themselves? We need the charging point to charge the car to take our son to hospital appointments etc! Very draconian to dictate what cars personnel and families should be driving!
