Employment & training – a changing landscape

This autumn we are focusing on employment and training and the issues that affect you as an Army family.

We’ll look at spousal employment overseas, what’s next for Forces Families Jobs, home working, benefits of apprenticeships, tips for career changers and how to boost your CV through volunteering.

We’ll also focus on Foreign & Commonwealth families and visa requirements for employment, plus shine a light on what training opportunities are available.

What have we been working on?

Over the last year AFF has focused on access to funding for higher education. We’ve become aware of enquiries from spouses and adult children struggling to access student finance due to the location of their soldier when they joined the Army.

This is especially complex across the devolved administrations and we’re continuing to work with the MOD Covenant team, student finance teams and universities to provide clarity to students from the military community about this.

We’re here to help

We encourage you to speak to us about any issue you are having regarding higher education, employment and training. Check out our website here and look out on our social media for info and top tips.
