The Forces Help to Buy scheme has been made permanent, with effect from 1 January 2023.
The scheme allows Regular Service personnel with more than 12 months’ service to take an advance of up to 50% of their annual salary, interest free, to buy a home. The advance is capped at £25,000 and repaid over a 10-year period.
The Forces Help to Buy (FHTB) pilot scheme began in 2014, to support home ownership for Service personnel.
