Funding available for welfare projects

The 2021 round of the NAAFI Fund is now open for applications. The fund awards grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 to UK Armed Forces bases for projects that improve the quality of life for serving personnel and their families.

There is also the chance to apply for funding of more than £20,000 for larger-scale projects.

This year the fund, which is administered by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, will focus on making awards that seek to improve health and wellbeing, including mental health.

There is a two-stage application process – units should submit a 50-word summary outlining their proposed project by 14 July 2021.

Successful submissions will then be invited to make a full application for funding before 28 July 2021. Funding decisions will be made in October.
