Funding for early years military children

The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust has announced a grant for education and childcare providers so that military families have greater access to good quality early years education.

What’s available?

The Armed Forces Families Fund: Early Years Programme offers grants of between £5,000 and £80,000 to projects which improve early years education and childcare settings to ensure they meet the needs of young children from military families.

This funding aims to address specific needs such as increasing the capacity for providers or to support the training of staff so that more Armed Forces families have access to high-quality childcare.

Who can apply?

Applicants are welcomed from early years education and childcare providers which operate either on the Defence estate or within five miles of an Armed Forces base (where the children from military families make up a minimum of 40% of children enrolled).

Local authorities or organisations who provide training to early years professionals who work with military children are also eligible to apply.

Application deadline: 5pm on 12 January 2024.

More information about eligibility is available at The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust: Armed Forces Families Fund – Early Years programme 2023-24.
