Housing on the agenda this autumn

Now that training and moves delayed by COVID-19 have resumed, we will be focusing on housing at AFF this autumn.

Have your say on FAM

Last year saw our housing enquiries increase by 18% and these represented 27% of our total enquiries. Your key issues included questions about the Future Accommodation Model (FAM), including what it is, who is eligible and how it works.  We’d like to hear more of your views on FAM later this month in our Big Survey, which runs from 21 September to 19 October.

During September and October, AFF will be putting the spotlight on the issues that affect you and your family, including the location changes to CAAS banding in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We’ll look at the consequences of retaining your quarter, including focusing on who is eligible and what you need to consider.

We’ll also be talking about applying to co-habit in surplus SFA if you’re in a long-term relationship and would like you to let us know how you’ve found the process. Look out for our Question of the Month on social media.

Working on your behalf

We have championed Army families at meetings including those for FAM and for the Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) contract – the future maintenance contract for military housing.

Get in touch with AFF

If housing issues are on your agenda, then now is the time to speak to us, either via social media or by contacting our Housing Specialist Cat Calder at housing@aff.org.uk
