AFF wants to ensure that Army families have their views heard in the General Election. If you haven’t already registered to vote, you have until 11.59pm on 26 November to do so. See www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
You can register if you are a UK citizen or an Irish, EU or Commonwealth citizen with a permanent UK address.
We understand that voting when you are overseas is not always easy but families need to be clear about their options.
You can either vote by post, or by proxy – where you nominate someone to vote in person for you. The Government advice is that voting by proxy is the best way to vote if the election is less than two weeks away.
For more information about voting when overseas and to apply, see gov.uk/voting-when-abroad. Usually, you need to apply for a proxy vote at least six working days before election day.
Difficulty in voting when posted overseas is an issue AFF continues to raise with key stakeholders. If you experience any issues voting, email rmoverseas.aff.org.uk
