A funding programme has been launched with the aim of ensuring women in the Forces are given targeted support when they are facing challenges to their health and wellbeing.
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (AFCFT) is offering one-year grants of up to £50,000 and two-year grants of up to £100,000 for projects that focus on the needs of Service women and tackle issues that are made worse by Service life.
It’s part of the trust’s new Service women: Seen and Heard programme, which comes in the wake of a public consultation last year that highlighted a need to make sure Armed Forces communities were not disadvantaged.
Chief Executive Anna Wright said: “This initiative provides targeted support, improving access to essential services and significantly enhancing the quality of life for these women, ultimately making a positive impact on the lives of our Armed Forces.”
The trust is inviting applications from registered charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs) and Armed Forces units by noon on 25 September for a decision before the end of November.
Full details, including eligibility and how to apply can be found on the Trust’s website: www.covenantfund.org.uk
