MOD launches public consultation

The MOD has launched a public consultation on proposals to provide legal protections for Armed Forces personnel and veterans serving on operations outside the UK.

The government is strongly opposed to Armed Forces personnel and veterans being subject to repeated investigations in connection with historical operations committed in the course of duty outside the UK, many years afterwards.

On 21 May 2019, the Secretary of State for Defence announced plans to take forward work to address this issue, including this public consultation on proposed measures, which the MOD believes can be enacted in a manner consistent with obligations under domestic and international law, while providing genuine benefits to Service personnel.

The public consultation will run until 11:59pm on 13 October 2019.

This is great news that AFF are promoting this survey…..however, it seems serving soldiers don’t seem to know about it.
