The Ministry of Defence has released its Families Strategy, which sets out its plan to support Service families over the next 10 years.
The strategy brings together policies on health and well-being, education and career support and takes into account the recommendations made in the report ‘Living in our Shoes: Understanding the needs of UK Armed Forces families’ published last year.
Army families play an essential role in supporting the operational effectiveness of our Armed Forces, and we are pleased to see that their contribution is recognised by the MOD.
We look forward to seeing how this strategy will provide all Army families – whether married, in partnerships, with or without children – with the support they need to maintain their family lives as they move around the UK and overseas.
AFF will be working alongside the RAF and Naval Families Federations to ensure that Service families’ voices continue to be heard.
