The official opening of Tree Tots Day Nursery in Tidworth, which was built to accommodate families rebasing from Germany, was held recently.
AFF’s Regional Lead South West Carol Morris went along and was able to meet military families and children who attend the nursery as well as the staff.
Devizes MP Danny Kruger cut the ribbon and unveiled a plaque to mark the opening. Also in attendance were Lt Col Rupert Whitelegge, Commander Tidworth, Netheravon and Bulford Garrison, the Mayor of Tidworth, Mark Connolly and members of the project team.
Carol was involved in shaping the nursery as secretary of the Board of Trustees for the Early Years provision within the garrison. She said: “It was great to see such a wonderful turnout and the opportunity to re-engage with people after spending such a long time working from home.”
The centre, which was funded by the MOD and built by Aspire Defence, welcomed its first children last year but the official opening was delayed due to the pandemic.
