AFF’s Employment & Training Specialist Jenna Richardson recently represented Forces Families Jobs at the online International Military Spouse Employment Summit 2021.
She presented as part of a session highlighting the different initiatives around the world to advocate and support the employment of military spouses.
Jenna said: “Many of the challenges that UK military spouses face in relation to employment are experienced by spouses in other countries. As well as being a great opportunity to present Forces Families Jobs on the international stage, it was fascinating to see the work that other countries are doing to tackle to same issues that we encounter.”
Delegates were able to hear from organisations such as the United States Military Spouse Chamber of Commerce, the Australian Department of Defence as well as Recruit for Spouses and the Military Coworking Network in the UK.
The summit was hosted by Amanda McCue, a career development professional working with the military community in Australia.
The aim was for delegates from across the globe, including Australia, the UK, France, the USA and Canada, to discuss military partner challenges and solutions, showcase military spouse employment policies, programmes and services, and share their expertise.
