Remind schools about extra funding

Your Service child’s school could claim a share of the £2m Education Support Fund but, hurry, the deadline is 12pm on 30 September, so encourage your school to apply.

The £2m fund is open to publicly-funded schools, academies, free schools and sixth form colleges in the UK which have to mitigate the effects on Service children whose parents are frequently mobile or deployed.

The £3m from the 2019 ESF supported around 25,000 children from all three Services.

To apply from England, Scotland and Wales, schools should email DCYP-MOD-ESF-Mailbox@mod.gov.uk and from Northern Ireland RC-AWS-N-38X-0mailbox@mod.gov.uk. Successful schools will be told in January 2020.

Schools in Wales can also apply for part of a £250,000 Welsh Government fund to support Service children. Apply at www.sscecymru.co.uk/funding by 30 September.
