Roadshow visits Northern Ireland

In June, the Ask AFF Roadshow visited Northern Ireland, where we spoke to the chain of command, serving personnel and families in Lisburn and Aldergrove.

Our Specialists were able to help with a wide range of enquiries, including  complex immigration questions, highlighting training and employment opportunities via Forces Families Jobs and understanding the various military allowances and benefits available.

AFF Employment & Training Specialist Lucy Ritchie said: “It was great to meet the Families’ Employment Support Officer from the Army Welfare Service to talk about job opportunities for spouses in Northern Ireland and how we can work together to improve access to these.”

One soldier said: “The information that I got today has really helped me. I would say to others, don’t sit in your room worrying about things, you can get confidential advice and a clear answer really quickly.”

If you didn’t catch up with the team during their visit, look out for units promoting online evening events over the next few months.

You can contact AFF by emailing contact@aff.org.uk or calling 01264 554004.
