An evidence-based toolkit to help schools boost their support for Service children has been launched.
Underpinned by research and tested in schools, the Thriving Lives Toolkit has been launched by the Service Children’s Progression Alliance (SCiP Alliance).
The toolkit has been developed in collaboration with partners across the UK and includes an introductory animation; a detailed resource introducing the evidence base, what schools can do to support their Service children and who can help, and school case studies.
The launch follows the SCiP Alliance’s Year of the Service Child Voice project, to which AFF contributed.
Anna Hutchinson, AFF Education & Childcare Specialist, said: “I’m delighted to be involved with the launch of the Thriving Lives Toolkit. It is an exciting development for schools and gives them the tools to best support our Service children.
“Extensive research and collaboration have taken place to ensure that the values underpinning this toolkit will help to drive forward best practice.”
The SCiP Alliance is hosted by the University of Winchester and supported by the MOD and is focused on improving the educational progression of children from UK Armed Forces and veterans’ families.
