Spotlight on childcare

During February we will be focusing on childcare. Our survey, which runs from 3 to 21 February, will be gathering evidence on what are the unique needs and issues for army families accessing childcare.

Throughout February, keep an eye on our social media for updates highlighting the childcare options available.

We’ll look at 15 and 30 hours’ free childcare in England, tax-free schemes that can help to pay for your childcare, what is on offer in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and explore your childcare issues with our childcare survey.

We’ll also examine other options, such as training to become a childminder.

What has AFF been up to on your behalf?

AFF has worked with contacts including the Directorate Children and Young People, local authorities, and groups such as the Service Children’s Progression Alliance at The University of Winchester. We’ll continue working on your behalf to push for change on the childcare issues that affect your family.

We’re here to help

We encourage you to speak to us about any issue you are having regarding your childcare for your family.

Check out our webpages here, get involved on social media or speak to us in your local area. You can also speak to our Education & Childcare Specialist on ec@aff.org.uk
