Until the end of March, we will be focusing on health and additional needs here at AFF.
If you’re thinking of starting or growing your family in 2021, we’ll be signposting you to information on maternity support, assisted conception, adoption and fostering.
We’re also shining a light on mental health support for children and we will be spreading the word about the great groups out there.
There will be plenty of other health-related updates throughout the coming weeks, so keep an eye on our social media.
What did you get in touch with us about over the last year?
- NHS waiting lists and continuity of healthcare
- Assisted conception policy and accessing IVF treatment
- Variations in healthcare provision in the UK and overseas
- Families’ mental health support.
Who have we worked with on your behalf?
AFF has worked with organisations and stakeholders including NHS England & NHS Improvement, the Department of Health & Social Care, Armed Forces Patient and Public Voice Group, healthcare providers in the devolved nations and the Medical Supportability Working Group to push for change on the issues that affect you.
Virtual study day
AFF has received funding from Aspire to support an additional needs and disability virtual study day on 29 March for practitioners, professionals and policy makers working within the MOD, chain of command, external organisations and charities.
This year, we’ll continue working on your behalf to improve the outcomes for the concerns that affect your family.
Additional needs groups
We’re looking at restarting our additional needs group in Aldershot, with the possibility of running a face-to-face group later in the year. We have successfully run a couple of virtual support groups with more planned. Let us know what you would like to see included for future groups.
We’re here to help
We encourage you to speak to us about any issue you are having.
