Lockdown may have offered you the opportunity to re-evaluate your life and think about your future goals.
With that in mind, AFF will be focusing on training this month and exploring the role Forces Families Jobs (FFJ) can have in giving your career a boost. Over the past couple of months, we’ve been highlighting great initiatives available through FFJ and we’ll carry on sharing these with you.
We’ll be exploring what FFJ can offer you: both in terms of new job opportunities and training courses specifically targeted at the military community.
You may have decided that now’s the time to become your own boss, so we’ll outline what you need to know to get started.
We will also be shining a spotlight on the important role that volunteering can play, as a means of building confidence and helping with key skills to aid career progression. Please look out for the article in the summer edition of Army&You, out tomorrow.
We’ll also be running a quick poll on our Facebook page on what barriers you face when trying to access training courses.
Throughout June, keep an eye on our social media for updates.
What’s happened in the last year?
Last year, the successful launch of FFJ meant that spousal employment was firmly on the agenda and AFF saw a 72% increase in employment enquiries overall. We saw a huge rise of 336% in enquiries about seeking employment in the UK and 77% overseas.
In the last year, AFF has worked with organisations and stakeholders to push for change on the issues that affect you.
We’ll continue working on your behalf to improve the outcomes for Army families.
