Changes to move-in/move-out standards

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is to reduce the amount of work it does to prepare SFA for new residents because of significant pressures on defence funding.

It says the revised move-in/move-out standard will continue to ensure families are provided with homes that are safe, clean, habitable and fully functional.

But you are less likely to be moving into a property with new curtains and carpets and extensive redecoration. However, a specific allowance has also been made for fair wear and tear on move-out.

Over the summer AFF heard from families affected by the late withdrawal of allocated SFA due to lack of funds. These changes to the move-in standard should mean fewer families are impacted by withdrawals.
