The damage charges process on move-out has been updated.
DIO brought in a new simplified system on 1 May, which aims to provide you with clear details on the day of your move-out and enough time to review everything before any further action is taken.
Your Housing Officer will give you a formal notification via email on the day, including your move-out form, details of any damage charges incurred and information on how to raise a dispute.
You then have 30 days to assess the charges and initiate a Stage 1 dispute if you feel you need to. Recovery action won’t start until this period has expired.
If a dispute is raised, any recovery action will be paused until it’s resolved. Pinnacle will continue to handle Stage 1 disputes and DIO will carry on managing those that reach Stage 2.
Formal notifications for families who moved out before 1 May will continue under the previous process.
