Expansion of MOD Wraparound Childcare eligibility

From the autumn term 2023, the MOD Wraparound Childcare Scheme (WAC) eligibility criteria are being expanded to include the following:

  • all eligible Full Time Reserve Service (FTRS) personnel (all commitment types);
  • all eligible Service personnel serving overseas, whose family remain in the UK (including families who are voluntarily separated) and are using a UK childcare provider

As long as all the other WAC eligibility criteria are met, personnel in the above categories will be eligible to register and claim for WAC from the autumn term 2023.

If you’re claiming for the first time, you can now use a new simplified registration form to register each child.

If you’re already claiming, you don’t need to re-register.

Keep an eye on our website and social media pages; we will be updating these with further details as we receive them. Service personnel can check the Defence Intranet or Defence Connect for further announcements and more information as it becomes available.

If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with the MOD WAC team at People-AFFS-WAC-FRO-mailbox@mod.gov.uk
