Increases to visa fees

The Government has announced that visa fees will be increasing from 4 October 2023. Please see GOV.UK – Home Office immigration and nationality fees: 4 October 2023.

The Government also announced an increase in the immigration health surcharge (IHS). Please note that partners and children applying to enter or remain in the UK under Appendix Armed Forces do not need to pay the IHS. The IHS is also not paid if you are applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

These changes will increase the financial burden on our non-UK personnel and families. AFF will be raising this issue with the Government and with opposition parties, and encouraging them to consider alternative arrangements for Armed Forces personnel and their families.
