Service personnel and their families posted to Cyprus have a new online resource for facts about life on the island.
The British Forces Cyprus community information website went live in September, covering everything from preparing for arrival and living on the bases, to welfare agencies, education and healthcare.
It features details and images of types of SFA on the bases and contains links to the websites of the five MOD schools. More pages with information about leisure and facilities are in the pipeline.
People Operations Specialist Wing Cdr Jackie Wren explained: “It is an iterative project that will continue to develop and improve over time and will seek to replace what is a high volume of individual unit SharePoint sites, unofficial social media groups and old-fashioned paper arrival packs.
“The website will significantly improve the information available to personnel and their families, accessible in a way that modern communications demands, enabling the whole family to understand what they need to know to consider an assignment in Cyprus or what they practically need to do once assigned here.”
AFF is delighted that this long-awaited resource has come to fruition to support families on their overseas assignments.
