Families looking for Government help with childcare funding and support are being directed to a new website.
The launch of beststartinlife.gov.uk comes in the wake of the expansion of the free childcare scheme. Working parents in England can now access up to 30 funded hours a week for 38 weeks of the year from the term their child turns nine months old.
It is part of the Government’s Plan for Change which aims to have 75 per cent of five-year-olds reaching a good level of development by 2028.
An eligibility checker allows them to see what funding options are available to them depending on their circumstances and where they live.
Other sections signposting them towards support include a breakfast clubs map checker, school readiness tips for parents of children starting reception and health advice covering pregnancy to starting school.
