From September eligible working Service families in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be able to claim the same level of early years childcare costs as those in England or posted overseas.
Until now families assigned to the devolved nations have received fewer Government-funded childcare hours.
The UK Nursery Authority has been created to address the difference. It reimburses the difference in costs, matching the Government-funded hours families would be entitled to if assigned to England.
The scheme is open to Regular and full commitment Reserve personnel.
Registration information will be available from September. You’re advised to check you meet the eligibility criteria, make sure your child is recorded on JPA and has an active Tax Free Childcare account.
You’ll be able to check whether you’re eligible via Discover My Benefits and you can find more detail on the UK Nursery Authority on our early years and childcare page.
