AFF focus – the job front

Over the next few months, we will be focusing on employment. We’ll be taking a look at whether spouses and partners have experienced new employment barriers post-COVID or is remote working making a difference for families?

We’ll also be exploring how employment issues affect other areas of families’ lives. We know from our surveys that it affects wellbeing and confidence, but what about housing, with requests for retention, and what unique challenges do our non-UK community face, or those posted overseas?

We’ll also be looking at flexible working and what support is in place for Service personnel transitioning to civvy street.

Gathering evidence

We would also like to gather evidence on the unique issues you’re facing, so that we can understand what support you need.

Look out for the next AFF Big Survey in the next few weeks, which aims to understand the impact service life has on Army spouses’ and partners’ careers.

We would like to find out more about the barriers to employment you’re facing and any positive examples of how you’ve been well supported in the workplace.

Keep an eye out on our social media channels for the chance to share your views.

We’re here to help

We encourage you to speak to us about any issue you are having.

Check out our website and look out on our social media for info and top tips.
